Compare and Contrast

Tip Details

Compare and Contrast: Create a double or a triple Venn diagram on a large piece of paper for each pair or small group. Randomly pass out 5-6 picture cards to each group and direct the students to compare and contrast the items in the pictures by placing them in the correct sections of the Venn diagrams. Students can be directed to explain, with one sentence per item, why it was placed there. Sentence frames can be helpful for beginning ELLs (e.g. "This is similar to _______ because..." etc.)
